I'll reserve judgement on Jennings till after we've toured the Windies, and we definitely need a No.3 batsman. Great win though against Sri Lanka.
The top order has been fragile for a long time  & Jennings has been particularly under judgement.
He's been given the chance to prove himself in Sri Lanka & he's currently smiling.
Wish the lad the best to consolidate his form & confidence & cement his place.
The Ashes are coming up next year & for a fifth consecutive home win a confident top order is handy :)

England's batters are still unreliable & seem to have a crisis of confidence.
Their form & performance swings more than Jimmy Anderson's best bowling.
Need to sort it out before Ashes.

Great to see a fine bowler like Archer knocking down 6 in only his 2nd test match. Conditions at Headingley are very different from Lord's & he was right up to the job.

Anyone who's been smacked on the head by a cricket ball won't question the lads being taken off when the light's bad or it gets damp...
Anderson will be missed & he'll be p***ed off at losing the chance to bowl at Australia.
Rather sad that some are picking on Stokes.

Stokes is a hero and he's shown great modesty & maturity  - he knows the job isn't done yet.
There's been a few irritating quips about him.

Bob's gone early.
RIP Bob Willis, one of the best quickies we've ever had.

Hopefully the International Cricket Council will retain the five day test match format & bin the idea of reducing it to four.
This week's thriller against SA is an example of the need to keep the 5 day format.
Cricketers are being made to play more & more limited overs games & the strain is starting to tell, but hopefully the greatest
form of the game won't have to be compromised by the increasingly short attention span of the sport's watchers...

Stokes let the knobs in the crowd wind him up & he lost it.
They're getting hammered again.

Rather thah getting hammered I would suggest that England look to have everything under control . Decent first innings score and some very quick wickets to wrap up the day . While it is never certain that they will win they can at least be certain of a draw which means they will win the series.

Apart from a few polite high fives & the team building huddle, social distancing is inherent to the cricket.
The footie is going to elbow into our slot now because they've got more money but cricket has had more streakers.
And it's more interesting. :^

Well done England beating Pakistan by 3 wickets when it looked like they were going to lose on day 2.

The openong batsmen are really struggling atm & the Pakistan bowlers are bowling really well.

A brilliant run chase, never thought they would get that score on that wicket. Hats off to Woakes and Butler.

Good to see Buttler back on form. What can you say about Crawley - wonderful.
The talented but inexperienced Pakistan players let those two chaps knock them out of the game.

A great series against SA in the T20 and a ODI and Test series coming up  - cricket was the saviour of summer sport.
Spectators come back to Footie & all we here is the usual ...

This one is an old freaking thread!! However I am really pleased of the fact that I have finally found a proper cricket thread. Did you guys watch the Pakistan vs South Africa?! Maaan, that match surprised me so freaking much, I was not expecting anything from the Pakistan team, as they were not in a good form lately, however this result made me smile actually, even though I have lost the freaking bet!

I can only follow on teletext but it sounds like the new boys gave SA a proper going over looking at the figures👍
