As my new speakers like a lot of power these matched pair ( left and right ) 80’s build monoblocks are up for grabs.

Personally I like the industrial look but I understand that some won’t like them.

Some have said they could be monoblock versions of the musical fidelity p170 , others have said a Tim de Paravicini design, you decide.

Large toroidal transformers under the metal shelf.

Dimensions:
Height 180mm
Width 290mm
Depth 290mm inc binding posts and heat sink.

I have recapped the board and fitted new rca outlets ( they originally had bnc outlets)

They have been calculated at approximately 100w each.
Sadly there is no provenance as I bought them at a local auction.
I was using them with my Edingdale’s for several months .
No pops or bangs and nicely made I think.

Obviously if they were branded I’d be asking for quite a lot more than the asking price of £400
Collection from Milton Keynes, I may be able to meet up within a reasonable distance. Hi,

I'm wondering if you changed the big caps also, or if they are 30-odd years old?

I like the look...reminds me of my vintage Quad amps. Any idea of the input sensitivity? Any humming from the units or the speakers when it is powered on and hooked up.

Many thanks...

Hi, I removed the rails from the transformers and they are in tolerance, tbh I’ve recapped many many amps and speakers with only a few that had strayed , quality stands the tests of time .
No idea of specs I’m afraid.
Absolutely no hums or pops etc .

Thanks for the reply. I was considering getting a pair of monoblock amps from Joe Henry, but I like the look of these (I'll take industrial and retro over sleek and modern any day). It's just that there are quite a few unknowns about them. Wondering if it's worth a punt at £400. I'll think about it and let you know...

Many thanks...

Strange coincidence. I gather you preferred these to Joe's amp?
Yes I did though a few members thought I was nuts . I too like the aesthetics and the fact that they’re 100% unique, I think vintage components are/were simply better than today’s.

Old Hitachi Mosfet devices in PP by the look of it, 2SK227 and 2SJ83

"2008
Used Hitachi 2SJ83 (J83) Silicon N-channel Mosfet. See picture from datasheet for more details. The mosfets were taken from a Rausch DVT PA-ampflifier. The 2SK227 is the counterpart to tHE 2SJ83. I have not tested the mosfets but they seem to be in good shape. These mosfets are very hard to find!"

I may consider a swap/trade, I’m also in need of quality interconnects and speaker cables
