got your pm also got email from tech boys at Chord they have added a 202 200 to systems used for testing cables

did not say what speakers they are using

most interesting point was they found none bi wiring worked best with 202 200 :dude:

Dave,

naims don't respond well to bi-wiring. Naim will tell you that.

Bi-amping is a different matter :dude:

Nigel,

I've always know what C/S equipment can do for the sailsbury gear, rather than me telling you. Prehaps the gent in question could respond himself, he is a memeber of 'dodgy handshake forum' and therefore has exhaulted status

Can't take any credit for this one Nige, was all your dealers doing.

I'll await your thoughts though.

Bi-amping is a different matter :dude:
As with most solid state designs naim don't use coupling capacitors in the output stage. Connecting a biwire may induce a higher capacitative load creating a coupling effect which has to be catered to in the design of cables.

Goertz cables for example don't work well with naim and sound a bit like connecting a higher impedance load to the amp.

Some lesser capacitance cables like kimber will work O.K. but the essence of the benefit with high capacitance cable is lost somewhat.

IMO with the right design one can make bi-wiring work with naim (or the like) with significant benefits
