Have you kept enough money behind to change the carpet or is that a planned future upgrade:p

they are early GRF Memory HW's from somebody at the Department of Physics @ Glasgow uni.

The price was pretty much bang on their value, but I liked the look of them, and I fancy they will sound rather nice with the Pioneer. Probably hold their value better than the Glenairs too.

The carpet will have to wait until I buy my own house unfortunately - but its something to aspire to

RESPECT

That is a proper hifi purchase, superbly done biccy. none of this fannying with sidegrades, go for the jugular.

Would love to try something like this one day, or a big horn speaker, but it will have to wait until I manage to get a nice big listening room. and lots more money. not within the next 20 years then!

hope it all works out, and you havea team ready to get them into your house.

So, over in the "Ding Dong" thread, that's actually Biccie, not James at all?

How else to explain going for a pair of Whitter-wardrobes at such a tender age?

Seriously, should sound v interesting with your electronics; suppose it's not for nothing that classic Tannoys are v popular in Japan (that & you can live in them: v imporrtant considering land & property prices in Tokyo).

thecrossovernetwork,
was only teasing. the wife would have a fit... though I'd love to hear them.

I would have suggested trying to sort sommat out if you were going to be at the bakeoff on 1st, but I think in all seriousness that I'd noteven fit both in the back of the Saab let alone the goodies I'm planning to bring...

My local dealer has a pair of very large Tannoys, I can't remember which model, but they sounded very very impressive when I heard them.

I said to my wife "they sound really good don't they?"

Her response "they look f**king awful and they are bigger than the children"

They are not pretty(IMO) but if you are lucky enough to have a dedicated room or live alone you owe it to yourself to hear some.
