Hi, I have been a member of the WAM for several years now and thought I'd join in here since I now have an LP12.

I bought an incomplete 70s LP12 as a project about 2 years ago, it has the black springs mod and that is about it, it had no tonearm and a butchered arm board.
over time I have managed to purchase a blank arm board (I wasn't sure what arm yet), a refurbished Valhalla and finally a couple of Hadcock GH228 arms.
I have a Shure V15 type III to fit.

Well it is all in one piece with a spare arm, I do have a slight hum problem but there is a Linn trained tech within 30 mins drive from home.

I always wanted to try an LP12 since the 80s when I bought my Rock II.

Cheers

I'm too impatient, all this levelling and bounce stuff, not for me.
I'll stick with my 1986 Rock.
Do you have Excalibur and the Silicon Trough and the Clamp?
Great TT. I remember seeing Max demo the original Elite Cranfield.
There was an Oracle TT on demo too.
Those were the days.

I don't have the Excalibur or Merlin, I do have the trough and optional plinth.
You don't have to be Merlin to fettle an LP12,but it sure helps!
I take my deck in to the pros for a service,my local dealer employs Johnny of Audio Origami fame 2 days a week.
They've just fitted a Karousel bearing and a new Lingo 4 and the old girl is on song again!.

I know j7, visited him in 2016, back in 1986 I bought my Rock from him when he worked in an Audio shop in Glasgow.
He fitted my Dynavector XX2 MK2 to my Ekos2 and serviced the old girl....what a beaut of a cart after two Dv17d2's....
The other chap(David) who helps out @ Loud n Clear in Glasgow recently fitted a Karousel and Lingo 4...both worthwhile upgrades.
