I attended a small Bake off yesterday and Simon brought along a project T/T. I think it was the one you mention. It sounded really good, especially when we found out how much it cost.

However, is this likely to be a stepping stone, ie first step on the T/T treadmill ?

If so, you will obviously not get your money back when moving it on. Why not look for one of these second hand?

Second hand. Pro Ject Xpression Mk1. Carbon fibre arm, decent solid platter and you can upgrade. Better mat , acrylic platter and probably the biggest improvement add a Speed box. You should be able to pick one up for about a £100. Spares are easily available and cheap as chips. For a plug and play you cant go wrong. Recommended. :^
