I recently replaced my Amp as I felt the combination of low power and inefficient speakers was limiting my enjoyment. New Amp. Krell KAV400xi,  is a revelation! More power, lower noise floor, better control, greater clarity, texture and detail! However...I still don't have enough bass. I want deep but tight and tuneful bass without sacrificing anything I already have. Today I home auditioned KEF R3. There was a little more bass but not enough.  Current system is almost there but not quite.  I have previously tried a REL sub but found that I didn't like it! Impossible to tune to my satisfaction. Current Speakers are Sonus Faber Venere 1.5's. Speakers I have heard in the past that I liked were Sonus Faber Cremona Auditors. Think I shall seek out the S/F Sonetto II as it seems I like their 'house sound' if thats even a thing. Any other suggestions?

SF Toy Towers might be worth a look, @Speedracer has a pair, and may be willing to let you have a listen to them. He's not that far from you (Ferndown).

Try a pair of buchardt s400 Mark 2 or a pair of amphion 3s .The latter is bigger and lower crossover.  Both have passive radiator and smooth but dynamic sound

Have you got the budget for olympica nova 1 ?

How wide a front baffle would you be willing to put up with on your next speakers? The wider it is, the easier it will be to come up with options that will give you extended bass in quantity and quality.

Assuming you want to stick with stand mounts then Dynaudio Contour 20 or Special Twenty Five or if they are too big and/or expensive the Special Forty.

These are well priced and will piss all over the Sonus Fabers:

Do you think the special 25 was better than special 40 ? You can buy new special 40 for about 2.2k from some places . Cheaper than that link but maybe the 25 were better ??

The 25 is a much bigger speaker and will produce bass to shame most floorstanders - down to 35hz according to the specs.

Needs a decent bit of space though.

I’m trying to resist the urge to buy the pair I linked to.😀

If you liked the Cremona Auditors but you want more bass, just buy some Cremonas. Simples.

If you liked the R3, you could go up the Kef R Series range until you get the bass you are looking for....budget permitting.

I think that's a matter of personal taste. I had the Contour standmounts and found them quite unemotional despite a good spec on paper, whereas my mates SF Cremona Auditors sound lovely.

Go and listen to lots of options before you buy  There are a lot of great second hand speakers out there to fit any budget and taste ..
But as I’ve said many times , above all other kit speakers are room /environment dependant..

Just checked your profile Dannish, and I see that you have vinyl as well as digital.

For a digital only system there are some decent DACs with tonal equalisers on board. Nudge the bass up a few dB, sorted, maybe.

My S/F Veneres replaced a pair of Dynaudio 52se. Heard a few Dynaudios but never blew me away. I have demo booked at a dealer next week.  They suggested a few things. They also have a pair of SF Cremonas coming in px!

It sounds like your happy with everything other than the lower bass. I know you tried a Rel without luck but there are lots of different Rel’s so I can’t help but think you need to persevere with finding the right sub. At least as important is the set up and positioning and my tuppence worth is this should help you achieve your desired outcome. Good luck
