Lookin to buy a s/h tuner. I've heard a lot about the denon TU-260 but wouldn't mind others views.

Analogue all the way for me, got about £30.

Any ideas or experiences fellers.....

Thanks

For £30, you could do a lot worse than a denon TU-260 m8.

These go for a song on eBay, around £20

. For that price, its a no-brainer m8.

I've heard nothing but good stuff about the Denon TU-260. I was looking for one a few years back, when they used to go for about 60-70 quid on eBay. In the end I actually settled for a Denon TU-380RD. Which from what I can gather is a more recent model with RDS, however reviews and info is a little thin on the ground. Not sure if the higher model number indicates higher up the range or not.

That said its a good tuner, well build with alu front and steel case. All the features you could want and top notch sound quality. I use the TV arial in the attic for reception, which works great. Of course most stations compress the hell out of everything (Radio 2 and up being the notable exceptions), but its still beats DAB is the majority of cases, due to the over skimpy bitrates they use.

I've not heard the TU-260, so I can't give you a comparison between the two, however I'd be surprised if there is a big difference. Eitherway, just go for it, you won't be disappointed.

Consider some of the older Rotel tuners - you may well find some on e-Bay for around that price. Double your budget, I knoiw, but I bought a second-hand Rotel RT-940AX for £70 from Audio T last year. It doesn't have RDS, but the sounds from it are rather good!

Its worth it, I have I think 2 up from entery at 1.2k and the sound is fantastic be it radio one classic fm or the archers on radio 4

I would say once you have had one no other radio would do, but I sold my old one to supercapman and he sold it on
