Well at least David Price wasn't exaggerating when it comes to these - they are making me grin like the cheshire cat!

exciting, refined, detailed, controlled bass, and easy to position
cool.gif.9d6c72c555b38e519336a6d9b55ca875.gif

They are monstrous and fill the room - but thats what being young and single is for right?

AK was right - they have a very similar balance to the stiletto's, just with a bit more breathing space and a touch more bass (not masses more though - realise how well they do bass for such a small driver now!).

they will be used with the JVC amp I just bought when the Maestro sells, and if the cdp sells - whatever I replace that with - which will be what I can find for around £400.

I don't think the JVC can be called budget electronics - have you seen its retail value
shock.gif.7732780fe7e208b945ce79ca96402fca.gif
 its worth more than the Maestro.

If I sell the cdp, I will probably buy a stock CD63KI - which we have determined is almost identical in sound

for max £150.

total £550, value of current kit circa £2000, gets me a decent sum of money back for not too much of a drop in performance.

can always look to upgrade in the future when funds allow.

yup rudolph, I'm changing my kit - we can't all be in swedish hifi paradise unfortunately.

Realised I should have saved some money for going back to uni - hence changing kit - not too strange is it?

Good Vibes - mine had a full compliment of new drives, new cabinets and upgraded WBT binding posts and cost £1000. Standard examples should be around £800-900, £1000 for absolutely mint ones (from what I've seen while I researched these).

These are the most exciting speakers I've ever heard - I'm drawn into listening to the music like never before - havn't even thought about 'imaging', 'soundstage', or even bass, treble, and midrange (the attenuators for mid and treble have gone untouched since I unpacked them).

These play music - and make me dance around the room like an idiot.

they are pretty huge Rudolph - and weigh 30+ kg each
shock.gif.7732780fe7e208b945ce79ca96402fca.gif

they really are that good though, had the house to myself today, so tested them at high volume - beautiful! Even PULSE sounds vaguely interesting Duvet

think they were studio monitors - there were home versions - I think the NS1000 without the M suffix. These had wood veneers etc.

I think they are fairly even in frequency response - which is probably why they sound similar to the stiletto's.

Strange to think that they are 20 years old

They don't sound harsh on the end of my electronics - but some people might call them bright I guess (I think some reviews at the time did) - but my hearing is pretty shocking at high frequencies - so I like it. Can also attenuate the treble with knobs on the face of the speaker if its too forwards.

they are 710x395x349 (h/w/d) in mm. Considering they are supposedly 'bookshelf' speakers - thats pretty huge
