You're like some sort of mind-reading wizard. The bookmark was a piece of toilet paper. It had writing on which I recognise as my ex-wife's. The word "verb" and then an explanation of the meaning of that word. English wasn't her first language. The writing is from around 2005 though (at a guess), so it's a mystery as to why she chose that place to write it.

I suppose she figured there would be scratch paper in Letters on EnglandxD

Well if it was a modern appraisal of England it would be written on bog paper.

I'm re - reading Thomas Huxley- Biography he was known as  "Darwin's Bulldog" for his advocacy of Charles Darwin's theory of evolution.
