Ian Venables - chamber music.

I remember his performance live at The Barbican around the same time as this release. Very wilful, but engrossing, when he could let a chord drop to pp and then ‘catch’ it with his next entry.  
Unusually, the Violin concerto was in the same programme, though can’t recall in which half.  The VC was played by Victoria Mullova.  I understand that Abbado went on to have a son with her, who is now a performing musician too.
