This evening my wife and I began our foray into The Ring Of The Nibelungen.

We listened to the Halle Orchestra under Sir Mark Elder in a performance of Das Rheingold.

What a wonderful work!  We both enjoyed it thoroughly. We had a slight intermission after scene 2.

I feel I have been missing out on something great and am now enthused about continuing the cycle.

I have bought all four operas by Sir Mark Elder and the Hallé.

Douglas Lilburn chamber music for string quartet and subdivisions thereof.

I love the laidback vibe to this album.

We have been continuing with Die Walküre, taking it in small chunks easier to digest (and schedule time for). we start Act 3 next.
