It's time to let go.:(

I have, as many here know, a very nice 401 in oak plinth. It spent it's life from new in the ownership of Stewertwen (who just happens to know an awful lot about these tables) until it came to me about 5 years back. Working condition is superb as you'd expect and physically it's also very presentable.

With the Garrard comes one of it's best known partners, the Hadcock Unipivot arm. This one has the benefit of having 2 arm tubes, the 212 (cryo treated) and the 242. Effectively 2 arms so you can fiddle to suit your mood.

Price for the package is £1000 and that'll be cash on collection. There's no way to safely post it. I will discuss a half way meet as long as it's not the other end of the country.

Great combination for the money a bit if a bargain.

There was a lot of interest in my 401 at Scalford, I'm surprised someone hasn't scooped this one up.

Someone might be interested in taking that Decca Gold with the rest of the package, Rick. So do you have an all-in price Decca inc.? (Or is that finding another home?) The Decca is a traditional match for the Hadcock as Stewart and yourself know perfectly well..

Hi may very well be interested in the Hadcock and Decca if you can find a buyer for the 401? Please give me a shout if you do.

Hi Are you selling this as a complete package with the Decca ?

If so do you know how many hours its done ?

Also has the deck been serviced at all ?

Cheers

Si

Hi Si

The deck spent it's life serviced as Stewart is a bit OCD in that regard. I've not messed with it, but saying that it's not had that much use really. It runs absolutely spot on.

I'm keeping the Decca.

I think this is a viable 'budget high end' item. (Exactly where i, and several other Wammers i know, pitch themselves.)

I see the subject of 'splitting' has come up (inevitably..) and its usually a pain for the seller when it does. Various options of where the split should come except the best one - selling the 401 as a chassis, or motor unit, as one 'bit' and the plinth and arm (with or w/o the Decca) as the other 'bit'. This makes sense because there is a lot of valuable work gone into the Hadcock armboard (wich is a good fit and match for the plinth) and the Hadcock is a classic match that some oldtime idler fans will recognise i.e., unipivot on an Idler.

That's my 10 old pennies worth..

(Also I want this sold so I can advertise MY 401 for sale :).)

Seeing as the ad was from 2017/2018, I'd imagine it's either long gone, or Rick changed his mind!
