Nils Frahm - All Melody (2018)

Recommended Posts

A wonderfully nice neoclassical album that I ripped yesterday to my server is this one from the master Nils Frahm. It’s relaxed, introspective, contemplative new age stuff that has some incredibly subtle melodies to it. Am loving it atm.

this guy is just a bloody master at what he does. It does go over into electronic and other genres but I’m puting it in here as it is neoclassical too and may appeal to wider tastes.

Posted (edited)

this thread has sat here for a year and a half, apparently unloved, certainly unreplied to.

and its originator gone after a mere 2 months, maybe he succeeded  in finding the 13th note, let's hope so.

must confess to have never heard of 'the master Nils Frahm'.

Simon said ' It’s relaxed, introspective, contemplative new age stuff that has some incredibly subtle melodies to it.'  Listening to it now and, yes, very pleasant, quite interesting, enjoying it.  Rather cheesy 'ooo ooo ooo' vocals have just popped up, but harmless enough.

I'd like to say it's as fascinating as Max Richter's music, but it isn't.

not sure I'd file it under classical, maybe Noodling New Age.

just turn your brain off and relax to it. :stereo:

Yup, fine, nice, good ... a belated thanks to Simon ' QuestForThe13thNote'

A Winged Victory for the Sullen (odd name for a band, but there you go) have a few albums since this too - worth checking out

Son bought me Spaces some time ago and I'd previously been unaware of Nils' work. I really like it. You need to be in the right mood and it's certainly not something I'd listen to every evening, but it's incredibly atmospheric and susprisingly moving. The Proms recording is decent as well.
