If I had that sort of money to spend on speakers I don't think I would buy either. I've been an audiophile for as long as I can remember and I think a lot of it is just irrational really, especially when you consider what you can get for a tiny fraction of that money second hand, and will it sound that much better, nope it wont, it'll always be just a hi-fi. I could dream about a euro-millions lottery win (which would have to be a dream because I've never done it) and filthy rich then even my hifi brain might bend to something for show, but even then I think my logical brain would take over. There really is no need to spend that much.

But if I had to answer the question Focals or the ProAcs with everything equal, I'd rather the sound of the ridiculous ProAcs I think. Even if I think they both look a bit silly but perhaps the Focals have the edge on looking the most 'flash'.

To me the majority of the 'high end' speaker offerings are often 'bling finished' or styled etc as a visual indication of their alleged value.  What matters most to the majority of wammers is performance and how they would work in a real life lounge etc.  Having said all that if I'd won £xxM I'd be considering a pair of Vox Olympians which to me are more functionally driven than the speaker equivalent of a ' silicone enhanced porn star'

Always wanted to hear a pair of Vox Olympians, was there a pair set up at Bristol?! Seems more likely you’d see them in Munich. Or on a yacht ...

 Anyone ever actually heard them ?

Enjoyed a day out at Bristol today with my wammer buddy lee Henley, ...nice to meet up with friends ,..made myself known to Jessica and engaged views on her new phono stage , very interesting indeed, nice meeting you....also long time audio pal dean , great to see you again...…..I was taken with a project rpm carbon 10 turntable...lovely in the flesh, some rooms more enjoyable than others , all personal opinions aside, we all have different ears .
