I think it’s a sign of the times. Modern room design, let’s hope they don’t go the same way with speakers too 😁

Being such an expensive deck, may limit the resale factor but some people change their decor so often, it could become a winner for linn selling new plinths lol

Hehe, I agree. My 2nd LP12 was walnut fluted. But I didn't have a HWBO - and certainly not a she...

Didn't they commission Timorous Beasties to design some fabric sleeves for loudspeakers a few years back?

Regardless of one's view of the aesthetics, clearly nobody on the team was a cat owner.

I think we have all done that at some point lol.

Got mine in 1981 from the now defunct Radford Hifi in Windsor for £350 sold it when I had my kids, big mistake lol

I got mine in the mid 80s. Sold it when I had kids - but don't regret it.

IMO. The big mistake is painting it. Somehow, it's just wrong.

Eye of the beholder and all that. My two furry psychopaths would much rather have those to er, demonstrate their musical appreciation than my Boenickes, which are no fun at all (can't even park a furry arse on top of them).

I don't really like the way they sound, so not liking how they look, has a kind of symmetry.

Agreed. Money pit for upgrades too

Did mummy and daddy not let you have crayons when you were little ? What a load of conservative crap! I’ve always thought that hi fi manufacturers should provide ways to customise their equipment, preferably swappable, so the colours could be changed. Don’t see why gear should look like it’s been bought in an MOD fire sale ;)

I’m boring, because I still like the early fluted Afromosia plinth best!  Here is my old one before I sold it.

... And so am I because to me they got the aesthetics of the original spot on, from the fluted afromosia to the on/off switch. It still looks fantastic after 40 years, the coloured things look like a Project gone wrong.

Which was the big mistake? Having the kids or selling the LP12?
