Harbeth P3ESR vs Rogers LS3/5a Classic. Let’s see how they fare head to head. Just got my hands on the Rogers. Will let it run a bit more first.

Initial impression out of the box ... it sounds good. Will give the P3ESR a good run.

No. I got subs! 😂 Just sold off my little pair of REL T5s and replaced them with a Rythmik F12. Bigger is better. Just got it set up today. A bit more of fine tuning to do for sure.

Okay ... I like small bookshelf speakers because I have a smallish listening area. A mere 10’w x 13’d. Living room that’s adjacent to the dining room. They also look the part. Small and cozy.

I do like the Kii3 BXT system belting out EDM tunes like by ZHU etc. or when I’m handling outdoor rave events I do like the huge bass system that’s set up.

Do you know that speakers are chosen according to the size of room?

I’m on partial lockdown in Malaysia. Borders shut. Restricted movement (not as much as in China). Am enjoying the scent of fresh speaker wood wafting in the living room. 😂

If the speakers are brand new it is not a fair test. My little Proacs took a while to loosen up.

With the right source and amps the little Rogers can sound amazing. Even without subs. Imho. They did when I heard them.

I’m gonna give them Rogers a bit of time to loosen up. But initial listening ... I’m liking it. Will be comparing them on their own and with sub.

I stuck at home for next 14 days. What else can I do? 😈

Yes of course I had forgotten.

Could you just remind me why?

I'm in lock down as well. Keep posting your findings.

Room modes. But wait, maybe there is a HiFi dealer who has a ‘magic’ solution?

Room modes yes of course how vexing.

We will all just have to use tiny toy speakers with no bass.

Yes it’s a bit boring but you will get through it, good time to test out those speakers.
