And I guess this was the point I inadequately tried to make earlier. The OP seemed like an invitation to celebrate the wonderful world of British hifi; my guess is that this is really an invitation to celebrate British design (and therefore sonics) rather than British manufacture (=final assembly, often from mainly foreign bits). I’m a sucker for British-designed hifi: Rega, Origin Live, Sugden, Arcam, ATC, ProAc.

Me too..british stuff is fab..my kit is mostly quad, cyrus,  acoustic energy AE1mk3,  LFD cabling..wonderful sound..

Many things used to be made in the UK, it is not so simple these days.

Is Creek British?

Arcam is mostly produced in China and is Canadian owned.

Mine is all British going by the above definition apart from my Marantz CDP.

So you're telling me that a UK-based forum with a predominantly UK-based membership buys a lot of UK-built kit? Astonishing.

I wonder what would happen with similar surveys in, say, Germany or Japan? wink.gif.25d7e4815f6a2fee62f4117deebb27e0.gif

There’s always one

I love the way that we can even have an argument on a seemingly innocuous thread! Here we go:
TT1 deck/arm/cart: Southend on Sea/ditto/ Bishops Stortford (via Japan?)
TT2 deck/arm/cart: Glasgow/Tokyo/Tokyo
CD player/DAC 1: Huntingdon
CD player 2: Kanegawa, Japan
Preamps: Salisbury
Power amps: Salisbury
Speakers 1: Bishops Stortford (but not same company as cart 1)
Speakers 2: Coatbridge
Cables & rack: UK
