A great voice singing great songs. Still Bill is one of my favourite LPs regardless of genre. A sad day.

Sad to know that he’s a very Still Bill.

A guy who was instantly recognisable and who put loads of personality into his music. No bland disco singer, this man.

One of my all time favourite soul singers. Live at Carnegie Hall is one of the best live albums of all time. RIP.

I do not know what to say or do Bill Withers was a giant of soul and touching your heart . His songs will live on and it is so sad that he was not able to perform or sing in his later years.

Grandma's Hands is for me the most sublime two minutes of any recording if you listen with both your heart and your head you can see and feel , family , love and history . This song makes me cry every and I do mean every time I play it . I know it will now make me cry even more . Goodbye Bill you will be missed .

Beautiful man. Utterly beautiful music that seems woven into the very fabric of my life - and many others.

I will listen this weekend, reminisce on past loves and shed a few tears, I'm sure.

RIP Bill Withers.
