Well aside from the normal CD's every week no HiFi equipment at all . However after reading the current magazine and looking at the near porn photographs ordered one of these which I am told will be arriving today .

Two rather more broken than I was expecting Denon cassette decks,  a DEQ2496 hopefully working, and a Aldi Planer / thicknesser, hasn't blown up yet and generates copious quantities of shavings.

I have sold quite a bit, Nakamichi 600, several CD players, microphones, old train track etc etc...

if I get furloughed again I am getting an arc welder..

A B&O Beogram CDX - B&O's very first CD player. See here: https://beocentral.com/beogramcdx

I've wanted one for years but the first I bought a long time ago had been horribly bodged beyond salvation internally, and the second bought as a non-worker from the Audiojumble had a dead laser. Hopefully third time lucky!

Update - arrived. Doesn't bloody work. Sent back.

I've been very good really, just the 2 items, a Nord Acoustics Easystream Dac & a cheap linear psu to go with it not bad really but there's a pair of reference 3a standmounts on the Bay making my spend finger itch !!

I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I've spent quite a lot during lockdown.

New dac

New streamer

X5 pairs of rectifiers

X2 pairs of 9pin output tubes

About X5 different sets of caps of various sizes...

:$

However I'm also listening to music every evening from 10pm until midnight, so it is justified in my head. I used to listen once a week.

I was also put off the Bluesound Node 2i pimping for the time being by that godawful thread... In the meantime I've bought a nearly new Project S2 Digital Dac as a cheap way to improve the Node. Very very pleasantly surprised that it has opened up my Bluesound considerably, it just sounds better. Only downside is I didn't fully research it and didn't realise the Bluesounds usb is an 'in' not an 'out' so i cant get the full mqa unfold with this set up.

I haven't been listening to music more or had more free time to tinker as I've been working mostly away from home throughout this lunacy. However,  as I'm in hotels a lot I've bought an Audio Pro BT5 speaker which for a £100 Is excellent and a real Sonos killer for not a lot of ££££

Could you not use a USB to spdif coax converter in reverse so you can feed the MQA output from the Node to the USB in your dac? Or am I talking bollox as usual when it comes to digital stuff?

Looks my £10 "bargain" has a little more than I bargained for ... 1 broken power switch ... probably damaged in transit ...

oh well job for the weekend ...

My lockdown purchase is repaired with some time wraps and a lot of fiddling ... those switches are a pain ... almost lost the spring contact as it fired across the room

And this is the arm that replaced the one Jules now has. In addition during lock down besides far far to many lps and some CDs I've also, bought an Ariston RD80SL, a Jolida glass fx dac, a spare RD80SL plinth, a Townsend Elite Electronic Industries battery head amp, and a Mk1 Marantz CD63 SE.

Let's just say my wallet is in A&E at the moment and possibly headed for ICU if this don't end soon.

Well my wallet is now in ICU as I've added to my lockdown haul.

I've just bought an 09 Mk1 Tron Seven Ultimate (WTF was I thinking? and NO I wasn't pissed at the time). Have had it sent direct to Tron for assessment & upgrading to the latest spec, it should be with me by the end of next week, can't wait to hear it in action.

Lots of new toys John.  Looking forward to hearing some of these at a future BO.

A friend of mine owned one of these and allowed me to borrow it for a week but at that time I didn't have anything to play.  So I went out and bought Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon and played it all week.  After the Beogram was returned I had to go out and buy a CDP of my own. I think it was an Arcam Alpha - the original one, kept it for many years until I replaced it with a Linn Karik.
