A couple of facts as I know them,

Firstly all cabinets have been made by Castle for year.

Secondly, Graham replaced Stewart almost a decade ago as designer. Stewart retired. There is only one designer.

I am pretty sure the DB1 is the equivalent of the R1SC.  I know the chap who represents Proac on the road and he told me his favourite from the range was the D2 - just a beautifully balanced speaker.  As a policy he told me Proac don't replace a model unless they are convinced that the new model is superior; therefore they don't follow the tradition of so many other speaker companies by replacing a whole range at once.  Speaking of the Response 1SC - this model ran for about 10 years - it sold consistently all that time
