Wooden cones make excellent feet!

Recommended Posts

I didn't like how much lower my Modwright pre sat compared to other kit - stupidly small feet and a massive faceplate.

Bought some nice cones on Etsy, and viola! Looking great. I've also fitted my perspex custom top to enable larger rectifiers.

Nice little Saturday afternoon job :)

What about these bad boys a little stain on the rosewood will make them look lovely , Teak/Danish oil is another alternative .

Mm dunno about this, the rubber feet at least provide a bit of decoupling, this just nails it to the surface it's on

Nope, not if its properly sourced.

The only issue with some types of rosewood is that the dust from working with them can irritate the lungs and cause rashes etc on the skin.

I threw away the 3 squidgy foam "feet" on my Hydraulic Reference turn table decades ago replacing then with oak cone feet. The turn table sits on a 3 ft long 2 1/2" thick  paving slab covered with black laminate with a glass top fixed to 2 solid brick walls in an alcove,  you can rap the un-sprung deck  with the stylus on a record, no effect.
