SOLD : Pathos Logos Amplifier MK1 £1200 (Got £1400 on ebay for it)

Recommended Posts

Hello folks,

Sadly, I have to part with my Pathos Logos amp.

I have owned it for 5 years and enjoyed every single moment.

Stunning looks and sound, but I guess you already know this.

Purchased from the UK distributor Audio Oasis.

Comes complete with original double box.

It tips the scales at a whopping 28 kg.

The original Sovtek valves were binned a few years ago and replaced with a warmer sounding pair of NOS Siemens (£75). Nearly as good as the Telefunken's, IMHO, that once graced it.

Now for the bad point; very occasionally it throws its ball out of the pram by briefly blocking the remote control. Turning it off ,and back on, resolves the issue. The asking price reflects this.

Located in Fordingbridge, Hants.

Auditions available to serious purchasers but Covid 19 containment rules must be fully respected, gloves ,masks and social distancing etc.

Good price for this.. You should state it’s a MK1 for clarification.
your ‘issue’ could easily be fixed and would enhance the value. The UKD engineer is just up the road in Wokingham Berkshire.. John Caswell

Good question, I will contact the UK distributor, who lives in the next village to me, and ask him to contact Pathos direct and advise accordingly.

If you have a very small Allen key you can easily take the steel top off very quickly and there will be the serial number and date of manufacture on a label on the innards 🤓

Thank you for your reply. However, I think I need to book an eye test tomorrow at Specsavers as I cannot find any label as you described:

Shame. The small label in mine is on the mid right side of the board as you look at it in this picture. Mine is coming up to ten years old, maybe they changed things. Looking at your remote I think they rounded a couple edges on it 2013 ish (mine is a straight right angled oblong) so I don’t thing it’s much more than 6 years old. The serial number will obviously identify it and hopefully Pathos will respond quickly.

There's been a part of me that wants to own a valve amp/hybrid. The sound wouldn't be a problem but whether I could live with the aesthetics is another matter altogether - all those sticky out bits.

Good luck to the OP.

Isn’t this the Pathos LOGOS and not the model named affectionately after a dodgy Nigerian city?

...or the town in the Algarve?

Hmmm a Greek company like Pathos is slightly more likely to name it after an Algarve town I think. But even more likely to name it after their own philosophical term (logos).

Greek ?  It's an italian company based in Vicenza.
