I suspect you won't find that many TP90 users in this part of the WAM...

what would be the dynamic compliance of an adikt cartridge ? Does resonce freq has to be as low or as high as possible ?

It has to be neither too high or too low. ( I think that’s the Goldilocks principle!)  Thanks to Ortofon for this little table, below

Thank you Nopiano, so if I understand well, the cartridge compliance of a cartridge used on the the tp90 arm must be ideally between 5-10 um/mN.

Now the question is, what is the compliance of een Adikt ? does anybody can tell ?

what i do not understand is, that according to this link https://www.vinylengine.com/cartridge_resonance_evaluator.php?eff_mass=17&submit=Submit it suggest that an akito with effective mass of 10 gr - adikt compliance 10 seems to be a bad mach ...

In theory adikt on tp90 seems a better mach as resonance frequency is calculated lower. Can anyone give some clarification? Thanks in advance folks!

Are you saying the Adikt compliance is 10?  If so, then I read that it is within range in a 17g arm. I’m assuming the weight of the cartridge is 7g or 8.25g, per Linn spec, plus 1g or so for fixings.   You’d get a slightly lower bass resonance in the TP90 at approx 8Hz.
I suspect the Adikt is actually nearer 15 for compliance, based on the tracking weight.  I can’t recall who makes it - is it Goldring?

It is indeed Goldring , thank you by for for this information, I was indeed assuming it has compliance of 10, that's what I read somewhere on the web

It seems like an Adikt is based on goldring 1012 Gx, do you now this ones compliance ?

see post dlaloum in the middle of this page regarding adikt compliance 10 https://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=93143.20

I see, yes!  Like I say, I’ve a hunch it’s a bit higher in practice.   I used the base 1006 Goldring in low-ish mass Dual arm some years ago, which came with the higher compliance Shure V15/3 originally. It worked well.
Im sure you’ll be fine with yours.  I read that non Linn arms require you to file or cut off two little lugs first.  I presume you have the cartridge already?

Hi Nopiano, thanks thanks thanks !

Here I found that the compliance of Goldring 1012 is indeed 10, not to say it's 10 for Adikt too.

Fact is, I now have a thorens td316 mkI with tp21 with an Adikt mounted on it. A thorens td2001 is proposed to me now for an very reasonable price (deck including a clearlight rdc base, but without cartridge mounted, and I want to be sure I can mount the adikt on it without problems. On the tp21 i did not have to cut something from the adikt. So I suppose it will fit in the headshell (removable) from the tp90 too.

Here are the specs of the Adikt, no mention of the compliance unfortunately.

What am I missing about this tonearm vs. a new state of the art one?  And what else works besides a Linn Adikt - also a model that is 18 years old and pretty much designed to be used on a Linn tonearm ?  That said, I know the Adikt has always punched above its weight...
