What brands could you NOT live with based on looks?

Recommended Posts

Tannoy wardrobes. I wouldn't mind so much if they sounded half decent, but.... :/

Nagra 1950s Nissan hut lab series components. Yuk.

As if the overall look wasn't bad enough, OMG that red line, what were they thinking?

I'll use anything if it sounds good. I build all my own stuff, and looks has never been a priority.

In terms of ready made stuff I like the industrial look of broadcast amps. This is what I'd call gorgeous - the famous Klangfilm studio amps.

Anything in taupe. No good for my pale skin / grey hair / blue eyes. Just washes me out.

I need block colours - greys and blacks.

Plus what Phil said about tall, thin speakers...they draw attention to me belly.

Which belly would that be?:P

Modwright amps, especially the ones with stupid small square display windows.

Modwright KWI 200 + Vivid Audio B1 = Music - Tweek Geek

They just look totally naff to me. Mind you, I don't much like the looks of any in their range. They somehow look garage-built.

The screws are on the back? I don't see how that matters.

When a speaker costs nearly 2k, it does matter to me. The build quality is nowhere near 2k. In fact I seen £500 speaker that's built just as well.

Also couldn't live with a traditional valve amp, with all the sticky out bits. They look like something from a dodgy 1950s Sci-fi film.

Luxman integrateds, and accuphase remind me of a cheap Dolby 5.1 surround sound amp. No thank you
