Is this subject not boring?

No-one will win

Hot topic of the day

Would be nice to argue about music instead of copper

Think you may be on to something.  Intend to spend the night in the shed in my PJs.  If being Deep Cryogenically treated works on the cables.  Think what it might do for me?

You should have done it last night, it was much colder.

Where were you with this advice yesterday?

The article in the OP references them.

Yes, but that has been dismissed as irrelevant in the hifi domain.

Depends whether you want to be completely transparent, apparently. I make no judgements.

Not at all, this is the backbone of digital interfaces.
The issue seems to be, as you and other pointed out earlier on in the thread, is the misappropriation of this, with regards to analogue signals in a domestic environment.

Isn’t that the same thing? I can’t see the relevance of digital interfaces to (domestic) analogue speaker cable design.

I've only skimmed the start of the article but I'm confident that the 'information' given in this graph must be flawed/misleading in some way. If it weren't then the differences between some commonly available options would be wildly more significant than they actually are (as demonstrated by both listening and acoustic measurements).

I can't be bothered to find the relevant bit, but the vertical scale doesn't seem to give a baseline. A 20dB difference would be massively apparent if it was a difference between 0dB and 20dB, but a difference between say -140dB and -160dB would not be.
