Psilonaught 388 Posted January 8 (edited) I'm in the process of refurbishing my 6mx6m listening room and I've added a 65" TV on one wall. I'm not interested in having lots of crap little av speakers but I'd like a decent sound bar for 5.1. Any recommendations? I'd prefer used. manicatel 200 Posted January 8 Personally, I’d go Sonos. maybe there’s a few 2nd hand soundbars going around as people trade up to the newer Arc? Start off with just the bar, or maybe a bar & a couple of Sonos 1’s for the rears & then add the sub when funds allow. Yamaha would probably be the only other bar I’d be tempted by, but I used to have a Yam2700 bar & the Sonos is miles better.

Can you remember what speaker combination they were running? Going by the Canton website one of the strengths of this may be that it can be run in lots of configurations, from the soundbar on its own through to basically a 5.1 system where it acts as the center channel: https://www.canton.de/en/products/home-cinema/tv-soundsystem/smart-soundbar-10?number=03890 Edited January 9 by MartinC

These I think: https://www.whathifi.com/news/canton-introduces-gle-4962-active-bt-floorstanders-music-and-movies
Psilonaught 388 Posted January 13 My £70 YSP-1000 sound bar is phenominal- going to eventually move it into my study for 2CH office music. Does anyone know if this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Docooler-Omnidirectional-Microphone-Condenser-Conference/dp/B0757K3P77/ref=sr_1_13?dchild=1&keywords=3mm+microphone+omni&qid=1610558652&sr=8-13 would work in lieu of the yamaha DSP omnidirectional measurement microphone? They are £35 new and this is a half the price
