It's fine...I used it quite deliberately,  because it was ironic I thought a bit amusing?  However either way its writ..its still understood.all we have is the facility to understand each other.. everything else is just decoration..

On a serious note, this lockdown has had a detrimental effect to the acoustics in my room.

I have added a lot of weight and it has reduced the air volume in the room making the speakers sound thinner. I don’t measure well 😊

In the bad old days..people went and gawped at the unfortunate people who were mentally ill ..the people gawped at them for their own amusement..the mad people trapped in a asylum..you could argue the gawpers were the mad ones in a great big asylum but that's another conversation..so the example I used re spike milligan larking about on tv for the entertainment of the gawpers ( viewers ) I think is perfectly good..I hope you find my answer beneficial in some way.
