Olson is a good shout - well made, but without Audiophile mark up.

Those who already have them, can give recommendations on model, as there is a baffling array of alternatives.

It occurred to me that my question might be better in it's own thread. ;-)

If possible is it not best to plug amplifiers direct to the wall ?

That was my understanding but it's not always possible to do that.

Look on Ebay for PDU (Power Distribution Unit).

No fancy filters , just good engineering. I bought two x 8way units (new) which were £22 each and free postage.

If you need a filter I find the EX BT filters very good value for money.

Regards

Alan

I found the Supra blocks from MCRU, complete with the Supra main cable, are very well built, have excellent wall attachments, and offer a degree of filtration which improved the sound of a DAC I run through it. I was so impressed I now have three of them.

We've been happy with a Merlin power strip, here's one at a good price: Merlin Cables Black Widow 6 Way US Socket Mains Block 5055581858873 | eBay

Furman Elite provides more than your basic mains block, i use a 10 Amp for all the sources and a 16Amp for each power amp / sub side.

They do something funny to the supply as when on the inverter meter for my solar panels reads a steady 5 kW; not the billing meter though unfortunately.

+1 for Olson. The non-foo type. Very well made and available for not much on ebay.

I did give 'em a good de-oxit - well they had been used in suspect environments, lol - and checked over all the screws etc.

I do plug my amp into the wall tho - non-switched socket.

I use a Furman too, brilliant piece of equipment. Good filtering, spike protection, takes in your variable supply and sends out a steady 240v and turns all you equipment on and off with one switch...
