Hi,

Has anyone done a factory upgrade to PSX-R2?

Yes, depending on present cost.   When the upgrade was first announced I had both of my PSX-R's returned to factory for the upgrade but that was a few years back.   At the time it was worth doing as there was a definite improvement to the units connected to them.   I worked out it was better to get any upgrade done as soon as it was announced by Cyrus as the prices used to go up after a year or two.  Must add though, no longer have any Cyrus units now as moved on to other items.

Hi,

Yes I had one upgraded (this one was connected to my Cyrus 8 amp) and bought another for my Cyrus CDi. I found a definite improvement in the sound of the amp. I reckon it’s worth doing.

I know a while back there was an offer on Cyrus upgrades, at half price I think. I wonder if there will be anything similar as now the new Cyrus stuff is out. It looks like a PSU-XR (the replacement for the PSX-R) retails at around £2000! It looks to have a different connection to the PSX-R2 so they will not be compatible.
