EAT turntables - any owners or listeners?

Recommended Posts

For those of us who want a change from skeletal t/ts these certainly look the part. They go down well in the US, but despite glossy ads in the UK mags don't seem to have much presence here & difficult to get to hear (even if shops were fully open). Some great reviews - some saying they're actually nothing like Pro-Ject - but one unfortunate downer from a prominent online reviewer (about whom I have some scepticism). Any love?

I’ve reviewed three of them and thought they were all superb.

I’d need to look back and see which exact models but the E Flat was one of them.

Ive not heard a bad one. Excellent engineering. The C Sharp is my favourite and nearly got one but it was a big delay at the time. I probably wouldn’t go for the optional lid as it’s extremely expensive. There are plenty of decent lid makers around at a fraction of the cost.

And as if by magic - one pops up on the bay this evening!

And you can trust the HiFi Trading Station. Or at least you could ten years ago when I dealt with them.

I’ve always admired them, and the heritage is a great one, given Pro-ject’s manufacturing prowess.  They’ve always seemed pretty good value too, especially as importers Absolute Sounds aren’t exactly renowned for bargain prices.  I agree that the dust covers are absurdly priced though.

They seem quite reasonable compared to the dust cover price for the Yamaha GT-5000...

The ebay one looks good (they should spell it correctly), but I may look at a new C Major which includes Quintet Blue for about the same price. Regardless of the AudiophileMan's review (Others are good). This one has an included lid and no additional box.
