FS: PrimaLuna Prologue 5 stereo power amp - UK courier a possibility

Recommended Posts

My lovely PL5 amp for sale.

The only reason for this is that I love it so much I've invested in the monoblock Prologue 7 version!

Perfect working order.

Generally VGC, but some scratches mainly to the rear of the side panels on the lower chassis.
One small mark on top of the valve cage grill.
One small scratch on the top of the side of one of the upper chassis panels.

This will come with 4x TungSol KT120 power valves - used but sounding fab!
And all Brimar for the 2x 12au7 and 2x 12ax7.
Not a bad valve line up!!!!

The KT120 are just that bit too tall, so while the 4mm plug connectors do slot in to their sockets, they can't be pushed all the way down.

No original box, so to start with at least, collection only - Glos GL17 - or maybe we can meet up not too far from there.

£800.

Whoops, thanks Keith.

I really should have mentioned the self biasing!

This amp is plug&play with power valves KT120, 6550, EL34, KT66, KT77, KT88, 5881, 6L6 and probably more!
Just plug 'em in and turn it on.

Fabulous! :)

Here's a thought....

Swaps or px for a preamp would be a possibility.

You know something's special when a serious box swapper keeps something for over a year, then gets another.

Buy, knowing you might never need another look at amps!

I bought a nice remote controlled passive off ebay, cost all of £40, and is to be sent to Mr Firebottle for him to sprinkle his special brand of fairy dust on it, I then might be prepared to swop for lets say, your amp and £200, whadya say Jerry. :upgrade:

Well, if something doesn't sell, it's not unusual for the price to drop in stages.

You might have to wait for quite a while for me to accept that particular offer, though. ;-)

I think my next step is to sort out a sturdy box so I can courier the amp to anywhere in the UK. :)

You cant beat prima luna stuff. I love my dialogue integrated. I switch between 88s and 34s for really quite different flavours...like 2 different amps.

I replaced my Plinius SA103 class A power amp £9,800 with a Prima Luna Dialogue 5 power amp and not really missing anything.

125 watts in class A versus 42 watts if anything I now have a more tactile dynamic sound, vfm gets no better with Prima Luna !

I had PrimaLuna Prologue 7 monoblocs - brillian amps - only sold to get Dialogue Premium Pre and a pair of Dialogue Powers.

I received my Prologue 2 yesterday.

Haven't had a chance to set it up yet,

I've had one before and forgot how solid/well built the primaluna amps are.

If Jandl100 and Bourney both swear by them, that's saying  something!
