Got to pick up the eldest from the Crucible later, I have no doubt I will get the full debrief on how it went.

Working all day.

Looking out of the window, it seems that was an excellent choice.

God was a communist. All men are equal. Socialism is completely different despite what the Daily Mail/Express tells us.

Heating on in May, can't remember doing that before.

Had a long weekend as OH had a day off on Friday, nobody called from work and i thought it was Saturday until lunchtime.

The joy of semi retirement!

Me neither , we normally don't have it on in April either . End of March we always spring clean the conservatory and start using it , we did it on Sunday May 2nd , that's never happened before , it's north facing and still too cold to use .

Good for the garden though.

Yes it was needed , I've usually started trimming hedges by now so I haven't missed that , I'm expecting a growth explosion soon and my tennis elbow is wincing in fear .

April was very cold, one of the coldest on record, certainly for night time temperatures. Even here we had many frosts, so needed the heating on in the morning. Cold north winds all month as well, meant max. temperatures were only about 7C most days but it was lovely and sunny.

Every day is a bank holiday for us as we are retired. :oj: Didn't mind the temperature over the previous month as we had a fair bit of sunshine and dry weather which is a bonus in these parts. The past two days have forced me into a bit of decorating and repairs at the Mrs house, so not all bad. Her house is freezing though as it hasn't been lived in for about 18 months. The other plus side is due to the rain I am unable to continue with an outside job that I am not enjoying at home.

I started early and finished just after lunch. Then my OH announced that I was to have the pleasure of taking her food shopping 9_9.

What was strange though was just how quiet the roads and shops were, spooky.
