Wam permissions

Recommended Posts

Since early Friday morning (03/9/21) I have been unable to browse the Wam without log in.

Is this a plan ?O.o

Tried three different browsers (Windows 10 Pro Desktop).

No changes at this end, there was a Windows update on the third, but no other Forum is affected

Me too. It also displays weirdly without logging in. Classifieds is not accessible and the main recent posts stream shows only new signups then old posts from ages ago.

Basically it's buggered.

I have removed the quality update that was installed on the 4th of September to get at the update (KB:4023057) that was installed on the 3rd.:/

That does not want to leave.

Using the wusa removal tool on the command line tells me that the update is not installed

Can we have a "give me strength!!" emoji :)

Reading between the lines there's probably something else going on that's not a technology issue. I'm sure if we're patient it will right itself in time. And just browse logged in!!

(Do people browse it logged out to stay anonymous? It never occurred to me.)

Hi gents,

Sorry for the slow reply! This was a deliberate move on my behalf but I will be reverting it back to the old ways. today.

I am now getting the same display. Gratuitously. But I'm not even being invited to login (again) as if I'd been logged out. The wam knows me, as it is still showing my profile but it won't show me the wam arms or pub car park.

Me too.  (That's why I started another thread: sorry, it's not needed if this is being covered here.)

I don't know if it's the same thing. Could be ... but the more people that shout about it the more likely it is that tech support will try to fix it.
