Which rca cable

Recommended Posts

My Linto is about 6m (20ft) away from my amp.

 Amp has only rca connections.

Cartridge is a Troika.

Can i use any rca cable or do i need to look for special specifications.

You do not need special cables. As you need 20 feet, my choice would be Canare LV77S.

Alternatively, I would go for

If I can’t get appropriate Linn cables then Canare is my cable of choice. With non-Linn, I always opt for Canare, I figured if they are good enough for Abbey Road then they are fine for me. You can buy very expensive audiophile cables that may sound as good as Canare or possibly  cheaper cables that equal them (I have never been lucky enough to find those ones).

The caveat is I don’t have your setup, but can’t think of any reason Canare would not work well.

Not sure if things are different to a few years ago but Linn dealers could always make some for you using Linn off the reel black cable. My b in l had a pair that he replaced using Chord Cadenza cables and I sold his for him on eBay. Try asking a Linn dealer.

Yes, Linn dealers have the ability to get both Linn Black and Silver interconnect cable on rolls, as well as Linn Black and Silver RCAs and XLRs.  We do keep the unbalanced versions in stock here, we may even have some of the Silver balanced wire.  I have made Linn cables as long as 50 feet for use in similar situations and they work quite well.
