Incidentally, note I didn't say bassy speakers whose port tuning contributes most of the bottom register, I'm not sure they can be controlled in a small room.

Not had those for ages, but my current amp could do the job.
What was driving the Momentums at the last Wam show? Or am I thinking of the one before (maybe it was Irishshitgate).

Yeah that was the MF. Not long after I parted with it in order to downsize. Had enough of 3 massive heavy boxes. Current amp is 4 massive heavy boxes 😆

Ah you mean ages in terms of your average kit ownership time, I was thinking of a more normal definition

It was a mere hiccup mate. Just more mag porn from back in the day when I couldn't afford them.

I can relate to that. Back in the 80s / 90s it was expensive big heavy weight Japanese kit that was catching a lot of my attention in those mags. Sony, Pioneer, Technics, whoever and whatever big weird and wonderful speakers they were offering. Technics had a few man size options. Although the other porn star I was lusting after was AE2s so you haven't done bad in terms of where you are at Rick. The other thing is with those is they are possibly one of the best solutions for working well in many rooms with their dedicated stands. Serious speakers even if they do look a bit industrial. There's always the flashy polished versions but it's a bit like having metallic paint on a new excavator :) a thing of absolute beauty but.. AE2s still never fail to catch my eye tho, love them.

I loved my IMF TLS80s so if they sounded a lot better than them I'd be well chuffed with the TDLs..
