I'm on holiday, bit pissed and bought some amps

Ok, so very happy and wanted to share 😊. Did a wonderful 13 miles in Norfolk today and a week to go and when I get back will be taking delivery of a pair of Leak 12s.

My biggest hi Fi regret was letting mine go years ago but family and finances was a priority.

Now we're later in life and have an opportunity to buy another lovely Pair and simply can't wait.

Anyone else have stuff they've regretted and made good ?

I have to say that the 'Wam has done it again 😊.

Love it. Beats getting a tattoo.

Edit: ah, that was funnier when your post just said 'OK'. I was thinking Costa del Sol rather than Norfolk

Obviously a daft post on my part, but up early for another yomp !

In sobriety however, still can't wait, if you're going to get a valve amp, get an old one 🙂

I had a pair of Leak TL 12 + mono's they sounded wonderful with my Tannoy Stering TW's now both gone & were hard to let go. I'm ok now about it as I've gone down a new path to nirvana.

TL12s are lovely and always a good buy. I'd make a case for the TL10 as my favourite, though. i once had a pair - should never have let them go.

Breaks my heart to see them go, but it's a good new home for my babies .

The clearance of the man cave continues...and these amps take no prisoners. Nice to report that a modest 60+ years after leaving the factory they still exceed original spec. One day I hope to hear them head to head against the 6C33C SET monos that are now ready for their chassis.

Ah, the obsession of DIY. Andy/PMCUK is completely right, building valve amps is improbably rewarding!

Music Man amp i missed 1991, demo'd it/ loved it, went in next day with 350 squids.. gone. Yearned after it ever since.

Just found an identical amp, but with 2 extra 10" speakers, in far better nick.. 450 squids. Woohoo!

My favourite is 'in My Little Snapshot Album'

Now I'm a young inventor, a chap with good ideas,
I've built myself a camera, it took me years and years.
It's a wonderful invention with special x-ray tricks,
It can take a picture in the dark and can even see through bricks.
I bought myself an album and filled it up with snaps,
And I've got some lovely pictures of the local girls and chaps.

Now I've got a picture of the girl next door, in my little snapshot album,
And I've never had a better snap before, in my little snapshot album.
The night was dark and the hour was late,
She was kissing her boy by the garden gate,
Wouldn't she love to see page eight, in my little snapshot album.

And I've got a picture of my old granddad, in my little snapshot album.
He's over eighty but a real bad lad, in my little snapshot album
Although he's an old antique,
He thinks he's still the village sheik,
I've got him dancing cheek to cheek in my little snapshot album.

Now I've got a picture of the vicar's wife, in my little snapshot album.
Chasing the Curate with a carving knife in my little snapshot album.
Now what he did was all in fun
But it's not the kind of thing that's done,
I can see he pinched her hot-cross bun, in my little snapshot album.

And I've got a picture of a nudist camp, in my little snapshot album,
All very jolly but a trifle damp, in my little snapshot album.
There's Uncle Dick without a care, discarding all his underwear,
But his watch and chain still dangle there, in my little snapshot album.

Well it genuinely never crossed my mind that a somewhat foolhardy post on my part would lead to such subversive filth. Brilliant !
