Sir_Franc 1,160 Posted Wednesday at 18:01 Share Posted Wednesday at 18:01 The colour of the sea is down to cliff erosion. The fallen chalk is washed from the shore and gives the water this bright blue colour. 3
Sumdumgi 2,544 Posted Thursday at 14:26 Share Posted Thursday at 14:26 (edited) I grew up near Penshaw Monument and although I am grateful that the National Trust took on it's care their stewardship is not without criticism. Over the years the fields to the front have been stripped of mature trees but the development of the path really has produced a scar on the landscape. They installed steps in 2017 and plain to see they are not used by the public as they are too high and too widely spaced. The rain has washed away the packed gravel and the public prefer to tackle the not inconsiderable ascent on either side of the walkway. There is now a petition circulating locally to get them to come up with the money to completely rebuild it in a more sympathetic and effective way. All Leica CL with SUPER-VARIO-ELMAR-TL 1:3.5-4.5/11-23 ASPH. Edited Thursday at 14:27 by Sumdumgi
