Lets start the day with some serious wires.
Impressive beasts these. Signal projects cables.
Jack says you can’t have one. He’s not importing them.. yet :-)
The only thing missing is the err music. The sound of silence. Looks amazing.
Avant garde mini actives sound very real. The sound is huge, we all assumed it was the big ones playing.
Star of the show? Right up there. We are all properly impressed.
Bergman turn table. Minimalist perfection.
Rosso fiorentino speakers.
Mola amps driving the plasmas
Baby Lansches. Mit plasma of course
Kingdom royal wardrobes
Doesn’t sound grim though. Sounds above average. Which at this show is high praise.
And it was being played too quietly to hear properly. Something of a FAIL.
Wilson and pass labs. Playing bland music. Sounds good but not as special as I know they can be.
Keith.. keef ?
Cessaro and tron
We are borg.. you will be assimilated. t+a
A dusting and finger mark nightmare for your Philippino cleaner.
Apparently it has a hifi system in it. Honestly who cares, give me a long tunnel, no speed cameras and wind the windows down?
Revox. Lifestyle systems looked very nice.
Adele again. Grrrr.
Bloomin good sound though. (pun intended)
The turn table was a real thing of beauty. no one had the courage to ask the price.
In case you want more complexity.
Kim jong hifi at the end there. Good hair. And by good I mean bad.
The sound is as ridiculously good as the price is ridiculously high.
Well, sold to the lanky fat bloke that can’t afford them.
Silbatone not afraid to play deep purple and kraftwerk properly loud.
Mr hyundai there. Spent £200K Of his considerable fortune shipping his western electric cinema speakers over from Korea, just for the fun of it.
The Silbatone amps are sublime. And almost impossible to buy. These aren’t here to sell. They are here for fun. And that’s probably what makes this the best room at the show. Love it.
Really nice natural sound. Free from wizz bang hifi bs. Just music I like it.
Riders on the storm sounding grainy and gnarly just as it should. Fearless music selection from the exhibitor. Big thumbs up from us.
Absolutely no carpet noise.
Dead can dance now. Top tunes. Quite a few respected exhibitors could learn from this. Playing only safe music makes most of us wonder what they have to hide. These boys are confident in their system.
Or bass thump… just not quite there.
Fully active. I expect quite a few wammers will have them soon. They do closed loop room correction on the fly.
I need some in my life.
Speakers with a sense of humour. Varios.
We are listening to number 3 .
They come as a boy and girl pair. Sub woofer “pet” optional. Sound just fine too .
Italian and bonkers. Why not.
Dynamikks Ugly fug 2000’s – I might be lying about the name.
The lights dim for a three mile radius when plugged in.
E1300 expensive but amazing. And built like tanks.
With some clever room correction that really works.
No idea what it is but it sounded great playing pink Floyd at crazy volumes through some vivid speakers abd ch electronics.
Need a bigger house.. and bank balance.
The cd player is called Jason. Cut and blow dry £9.00 no boys Saturdays.
Lcr phono stage.
Turntable v jplay pc play back demo in progress. They are telling us jplay is as good if not better than the awesome vinyl set up they have. There’s very little difference, which is a compliment to the digital set up. But I preferred the vinyl set up.
Impressive demo to be fair.
Proper speaker cables in the Silbatone room.
Well that’s all folks.
It was immense. Made a lot of new friends heard some amazing kit – and the Naim/focal room. Drank too much. Ate too much pork. Slept very little and my legs and feet ache a lot.
Also met a lot of very interesting Hi-Fi nuts. Some total mental cases and some very knowledgeable and enthusiastic folk too.
The wam raised its profile to the industry in a very positive way also. Amazingly we are not universally hated and certainly not as unknown as I’d thought/feared.
This time next year then! Oh and men in black and pmac (john and paul) and I found an excellent restaurant last night, which we intend to block book next year for a big wigwam shin dig. Start saving those brownie points guys. Wigwam tee shirts will be everywhere next year :-)
