Good day,

Looking for the above preferring a new 1.Can you please indicate your recommendations? The D7(not 7.2) would welcome amps with tight bass

Hegel - Get the best model you can afford
Arcam SA30
Pathos Classic One
Unison Research Unico Due
Vincent SV 228
Gato DIA 250S or Ex-dem 400S/Amp150
Possibly a Sugden A21 Signature - if it can drive them to your satisfaction; or ex-dem A21 SE

Add NAD M33 to the list. A bit more costly, but you get a streamer, DAC and Dirac Live bundled. I chose this over numerous other amps I tested at home over a year or so.

Thanks,Gents

Would you recommend Cyrus i9 or ATC SIA2-100?
What sort of music do you listen to?

How do like your music presented ie. Clean, Neutral, Analytical (eg, Audiolab/Cyrus/Bryston); or Warmer, Detailed, Natural, Organic (eg. Sugden/Electrocompaniet/Arcam)?

FWIW. I personally would not put Cyrus with the D7 - but that should have no bearing on what you should do.

Yes ATC amps have plenty of good clean power. The 100 integrated is exceptional value for money, as all ATC equipment is pound for sound.
In built 32 bit dac, usb port, 100 watt continuous power, with mosfet output stage. Built in head phone amp, and 6 years warranty.
That would be my first demonstration or home loan. I like the minimalist looks too.

Very much depends on what type of tight bass you want. Naim and Accuphase have tight bass but my Marantz PM11S2 and Audio Research D130 have tight bass that goes a lot deeper than the Naim and Accuphase. So it depends on how the speakers will work in your room.

The PM11S2s come up from time to time secondhand for less than £2000. Mine has seen off a lot of amps and will never be for sale. There is a Denon 2000 in the classifieds that I have never heard but there is apparently some similarities between these brands.

A secondhand Accuphase E270 or Naim Supernait 3 is within budget and if you don’t need really deep bass I think that they are great but very different from each other.

There are a lot of good amps in this thread but you need to try in your lounge with the speakers. Choose the speakers first then choose the amp.

Belles Aria Integrated comes in a little bit under budget (~£2500) but it's an incredibly good amp.

There's a nice Musical fidelity MX8i integrated on eBay. (offers). Can't be more than a few years old as it hasn't been out long.

Looking on eBay for recent used amps, there are a couple of ATC, Hegel, Denon and Marantz, any of which I’d be very happy with. Also, not mentioned so far, a Primare I35 for £1999 is a very nice design*. (I own the predecessor, the I32).

*currently nearly new on eBay

I'd have a listen to the Denon PMA-110 as well.

My Denon is very neutral and holds a tune at half the price.
I believe there's an anniversary that looks rather tasty. Not heard it though.
