OK as you all now know we are booked into the Holiday Inn Barnsley next to Junction 37 M1 and as previously announced the 2023 Wam show will be 28th and 29th October with the traditional format: a Saturday set up, public visiting on the Sunday between 9:30am and 5pm (note slightly earlier start this year).

VISITORS
As per last year we plan on advanced ticket sales in the summer at a discount, any remaining tickets on the door will not be discounted.
The rule will remain no "I'm a helper for xx" tickets, if not staying on Saturday night then a ticket IS required.
Ticket HOLDERS staying locally are welcome to visit on Saturday evening, and also to book a meal (see below).

EXHIBITORS
Those who requested a room will be allocated shortly - a sheet for your kit list will be available this week.
After this forum members will be offered the few remaining sleep rooms

Hence as we have explained this show has to priced to be self financing and cash flow will still be tricky for us this year. We require ALL payments to be made by 1st August 2023 as we have to pay this hotel WELL in advance.

Rooms will be priced as follows, this is the cost to us, no uplifts.
Twin/double will be £130 per room for 2 nights (Saturday & Sunday)
Included in here are elements the hotel normally charges extra for.
Friday night rooms will be £65

Additionally mandatory public liability and cancellation insurance will be charged per exhibitor room as is usual. Even though this is a much more up market / expensive hotel the cost for this insurance will be the same at for Stoke. So exhibitors will pay £5 public liability insurance and ALL rooms will pay £3 cancellation insurance.

We have driven a hard bargain with this hotel but we do need them to feel that is worth their while so they want us back next year. So we have again arranged for a Saturday dinner in the hotel ballroom room, this buffet will have a choice of 4 courses plus sweet courses.

Buffet cooked breakfast will be served in the restaurant at £10 per person on Sunday (for Friday arrivals), Sunday and Monday (for those staying over on Sunday for the curry outing). There is a smaller, specific bar in the restaurant and obviously drinks are extra,

Dinner will be served in the ballroom which has its own sizeable bar.

NOTE: Charging to rooms will not be allowed in any bar.

REMINDER:
we are keen that the hotel will welcome us back next year as finding a venue has been a massive effort so details such a returning rooms to good order for housekeeping to clean on Monday is IMPORTANT as we have managed to avoid their requirement for a security deposit. Your support in this will be required and we will check rooms with management on Monday morning.

Lastly we arranging for some trusted trade vendors to attend, including vinyl sales.
We hope eveyone has fun!

kind regards,
Paul & the team

Thats sounds great Paul I'm sure everyone will be able to fullfill all the requirements and impress the hotel so we can then call it the home of 'The Hifiwigwam Show'👍

So exhibitors pay £130 for the room for the two nights wether or not they are staying on the Sunday or is it £65 per night? I ask as Anthony & I are only there on Sat night but it's no problem paying the larger amount if it keeps the books straight mate?

Buffet cooked breakfast will be served in the restaurant at £10 per person on Sunday (for Friday arrivals),
Presumably that should be per person on Saturday Paul.

Any idea of the cost of Saturday dinner?

Well done all.

In light of wizmax comment above, is it in fact £10 per person per day for breakfast?
Either way, not a problem, and thanks to the team for all the work so far.

This is great news. The Premier Inn in Bristol was £120 per night and extra for Friday. And I know that at Axpona users of the room were charged a huge amount for the net ($750/night). OK different countries and scales but it happens in UK shows.

Looking forward to the Show and I'll be there for an extended weekend and I may bring along some mains cables that Puritan gave to me for the raffle. Yes collecting items already.

Oh my goodness I am sooooooooooooo excited!! (think "small-child-on-Christmas-Eve" excited). Fantastic news, and huge thanks to the team for getting us such a good price on the rooms, what a bargain.

I assume you will be forwarding details soon for us to make the payment? Is it going direct to the hotel or through the Wam?
