Not interested in Roon. I have a Bluesound Node that is Roon ready but I would still need a computer or a Roon core, which costs loads of money. Roon would add nothing to my streaming and costs loads of money. Not something that I have not seen before really . But its only use with Roon (and this clever software then needs the assistance of god old plex) which is in my view very costly does mean that it will get ignored by many . It would be really informative how many users have items that are roon ready but do not use roon . Suspect it may well be lots .
Darko gets caught up trying to make moneyActually I find AI (ChatGPT) quite useful in discovering music. For example I did this the other day: "give me 10 musical pieces of the early 18th century from Bavaria". I then changed 'Bavaria' to 'North Italy' and then 'England'. Extraordinary what it came up with, lots of obvious stuff as well as interesting pieces to listen to.
Darko I think got mostly caught up with the tech side of things esp. creating automatic playlists.
There's only 1 album I can think of with a track I really don't like. With all the other albums, the tracks I like least make me like the other tracks more. Otherwise its a bit like trying to fish the bits of celery out of your casserole.+1 for playlists. Off the top of my head, I cant think of any album I like every track on it. So being able to skip tracks is also a plus imo. Why listen to stuff you know you don't like.
To not have Roon Ready or Roon Tested status hurts hardware sales. Not sure about Munich but it was noted that at AXPONA virtually everybody who demoed streaming did so via Roon. Even Roon's main competition in hardware based streaming solutions include Roon capability because to not do so would be damaging to them. I think that to have Roon capable gear and not use Roon is less a rejection of the software and more the fact that love or hate it, most gear will include it just to have that box ticked in the marketing wars. Not something that I have not seen before really . +1.. Can tweak the sound, organise my library in a nice fashion, know the server is solid, without additional costs. It would be really informative how many users have items that are roon ready but do not use roon . Suspect it may well be lots .
