The Sony seller is a sometime wammer. He was trying to sell the SP10 Mk3 a while ago but seems to have decided to keep that one & sell this. I'd like to hear one of these. Sony's all out assault on the process of playing records. Ought to be very good.

That was my understanding. Sony decided to see exactly what was possible in terms of vinyl replay, threw a lot of money and effort into the project, and this was the result. It was, incorrectly in my opinion, compared to the SP-10 but they were aimed at slightly different markets. The Sony was designed with replay of transcripted 16" LPs in mind as well as other vinyl diameters.

Sadly neither this nor the Yamaha will be coming my way!

He's pretty local to me if anyone wants to buy it. I'm happy to collect and look after it for you. :D

I remember he was selling another Sony item a while back which was also on my very wanted list, the TAN 1 power amp

I think he eventually sold the SP10 Mk3 for just under £4K-ish.

Really? Sorry but that's a fairly awful looking retro deck made by a very mid range brand. It's also a fairly poor eBay effort. Personally I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

NO need to touch it if you dont want. Im guessing you have not heard much of the mid range brand stuff such as the tan-1 , ta-nr1, Scd-1 and so on. Very shite build quality and awful to listen to ! afterall Sony are better at TV's and walkman ;-)
