Hi everyone,

I currently have some Genelec 8020 nearfield monitors and have really enjoyed them.

I now feel I want to go for something bigger with a better depth and clarity to them. After doing some browsing I found the following short list and so I am looking for anyone's views/recommendations! :) I like a very balanced sound with a 'forward' presentation with lots of detail in the mids/highs. I am not a bass head!

List so far:

Genelec 8030B

Monkey Banana Turbo 6

Adam A7X

Mackie HR624mk2

Thanks!

Active monitors should have a more or less completely flat frequency response, your room will change that of course.

Your current Genelecs have switchable filters for ,free field wall and corner placement.

Genelecs digital series offers more comprehensive room correction.

Keith.

Thanks Keith, will have a play with the filters! :) Might pay me to actually look at the back of them more closely!

Going by your stated requirements and the models you have listed, I would suggest you check out the ESI uniK 08. They are better looking than most studio monitors and sound very good - ridiculously good for the money. The ribbon tweeter is excellent.
