It must be nearly 50 years since I last did any kits. Thanks Andy. I may opt for acrylic as brushes are easier to clean. The dropper bottles are also £2.49 each.
do you not have anything in your artist armoury, mixing colours would be a skill of yours would it not or is paint not your thing, one should never ass-u-meI have this year's Airfix 1/24 scale Spitfire IXc and because I haven't made a model since my childhood, where's the best place to buy the Humbrol enamel paints? `It seems the small tins are £2.49 each? I need 23 of them!
You can now buy washes - weathering effects. One is a dust wash.It must be nearly 50 years since I last did any kits.
I just had a quick look at the Airfix catalogue and the prices are a bit of an eye-opener!
But I suppose they will be after 50 years! Sailing ships were my preference: lovely to look at
but a bit of a dust trap nightmare.

I like the idea of doing kits but am impatient and would rush then get boredI'm idle and a stickler for accuracy.
There are 244 steps in the construction. I will probably reach step 24 and it will suddenly resemble a crashed Spitfire Mk IXc.
This kit will probably make me an inpatient.I like the idea of doing kits but am impatient and would rush then get bored
