I realise that I asked a question about CD player repair earlier in the year but that thread died slowly, with a something of a split opinion as to whether my CD player was even worth repairing. I didn’t get to the point of discovering if there were any recommended repairers in the South West (preferably Gloucestershire or Wiltshire).
Before I embark on a search for a legacy amplifier to run in a second system, I do need to try and find out if there are any technicians in my neck of the woods who could service, repair and/or recap an old amp.
I don’t have the skills/knowledge to do this myself and have read some horror stories about cranky voltages being output to speakers. It seems best to be a bit cautious.
Looking at something like an old Creek 4040, Sansui 217/317, etc.
Any thoughts/opinions much appreciated.
