I must have missed a notice somewhere explaining how this stops trolls and spammers.

Can only paid up Wammers report here? That might help reduce spam and trolling but it also excludes a lot of good non-paying wammers from contributing to the discussions. I predict a slow decline for an area with no obvious purpose/central theme and to which only a fraction of the Wam populace can contribute.

Hmm, I used to pay subs but went off the idea after the forum was (albeit temporarily) shut down, and then went through changes of owner and style some of which I wasn’t keen to pay for. Things now look to be on the up, hopefully not temporary and time will tell, so might consider chucking a few bob in the bucket, although if too much of the forum is shut off for non subscribers we might not be able to see if it is worth paying for. 

As for trolls, some of the worst culprits have been fee paying dealers so I can’t see that subscribers only will stop trolls!

True. However, the somewhat less than fickle ban hammer of doom is ever poised and ever ready. Believe me, the mods appreciate trolls even less than the members do...

That was just a quick answer , it's a members area , lots of clubs have them , we don't know what it will become yet it's early days , it might , might not replace the car park or even the pub , it's under development .

But more seriously, @rabski , @Bazzer , I've been away a while battling my divorce and then house-hunting (one of which fell through after 9 months of lockdown conveyancing) and now I am back (and a lot less stressed). I am also wondering what the outcome of this has been ....

...and I fail to see the difference between a club and a members area, unless it's a VIP area in a club - but then what benefits does that confer?
