Zero rated seller? Check

Free postage? Check

Located in the far North of Scotland? Check

Mind you, the bidding status suggests 26 people can see no problem with any of the above.

Who's going to contact the seller and ask about popping round to have a listen to them?

Already done - I have asked him if my brother can come round and collect them if I win and pay cash. ;-)

Those can't be in Scotland ... look at the last photo - clearly you can see SUN!
OI!

It's a heatwave here madam!

3 days on the trot I've had to go inside 'cos it's too HOT:shock:

I'll drive up and see him if you need a volunteer. Tell him I live in Nairn, just an hour's drive.

Zackly. Clearly up to no good. He/she doesn't write with a Wick accent either...

A visit would be an excellent plan - a great opportunity to stop by in Brora to pick up a bottle of my favourite single malt :ale:

Quite right too if it's a scam. Though I have a 100% feedback rating on the bay I am a bit naive when it comes to ruining a scammer; how could I do it if I wanted to?

I appreciate that I could win then say that I want to pay cash on collection which, of course, he would refuse and his sale would be ruined, but what else can one do to stop this kind of scammer?

Quite often the 'proper' owner of the ID has no idea that the auction is going on as the account has been hijacked.

I had a business account hijacked a few years ago and every auction with no bids suddenly changed to Champions League final tickets.

It was a real pain to sort out with eBay security.

There are clever people on here who seem to be able to trace the source of pictures which is normally one way of proving a scam.

If you think it is a scam report the auction to eBay.

if its a scam it not a very good one , zero feedback would be enough to put me off , that said if I where that desperate then a viewing would be essential before I placed a bid and confirmation of cash and pick up at auction end

surely no one in there right minds would bid with the intention of paying via PayPal and entrusting someone with zero feed back to arrange fuss free delivery ?

That is the point of paypal, you are almost certain to get your money back as a buyer.

Paypal scammers target sellers not buyers.

Welcome to the world of eBay.

If you get taken in by that, then I have no conception of how you managed to accumulate that amount of money in the first place. It might just as well have SCAM written all over the pictures.

Still, some twat will fall for it no doubt, and as a result we'll all end up paying more in eBay and PayPal fees as a result.

Not that they give a shit.

" You will get what you see in the pictures. "

So that will be the speakers, trolley and some trees & bushes then ?

Although it is always good to be cautious when dealing with online transactions, in this case you guys are a might be being over zealous.

Everybody has to start somewhere and there is every possibility that this guy has a pair of speakers to sell but never used eBay before so he has started an account and listed them. he lives in Scotland but so what - lots of people do.

As others have stated, he is accepting paypal and collection is available.

Think the wam paranoia is peaking:dunno:

You should know by now the Wam attitude to eBay.

Every seller is a scammer who is only out to rip you off.

Of course if a Wammer is selling anything on eBay then every buyer is going to shaft them with paypal scams or is an untrustworthy foreigner.

eBay themselves of course are total rip off merchants, even though they put your goods in front of a world wide audience and their charges are significantly cheaper than a local auction house.
