All the signs, and the photo looks like one that seems to get constatly re-used by scammers. Looks like a genuine account though.

Yep - if they ask you to deal by email rather than by bidding, it's ALWAYS a scam.

worth a report to eBay, they will probably be able to see where the holder is signing in from, sudden change will be obvious to them (even if bouncing through a proxy) - they'll look at the paypal account as well

love the English "TO CLOSE THE DEAL, CONTACT ME FAST AT MY WORCK EMAIL :" support@resellerapple.co.uk :dunno:

however account contact is: sarjaffery@gmail.com which looks legit

I agree the photos are 'arty' not the usual style of someone who is selling, and the mobile is non-UK

now reported

That matches with a real company director linked to that address too. Though, I guess, he has no idea about this ad or that eBay account.

HTH,

Mike.

Fucking ARSES - who do this.... I wished the police were even remotely interested in this "victimless" crime of scamming. I would cut their balls off with a rusty cheesewire. Thanks for reporting (repped) - you beat me to it

You can report as well, in fact the more reports the better.
yeah except eBay dont seem to do fuck all about it.

I spent a while contacting them about this matter as I was getting fed up with the same old M5 pre popping up with the same old scam email address.

They said they pass the info on to the police but it's still happening - which means they are still getting away with it and still seperating poor fools from their cash.

Surely if eBay had any interest in stopping it their 'fraud provention squad' (or whatever they are called) would just put an alert on 'audio note m5' or similar and check it out every time one comes up - its hardly rocket surgery or even difficult:dunno:

Reported (what a flaming faff that was).

If I walk into my local garage and walk out with a Twix Bar, I would expect the police to knock on my door and prosecute me. Meanwhile on Planet On-Line, I can do almost anything and the police......

......

... are not interested.

Ask me how I know.

in fairness to the police most of these scammers are abroad, nothing they can do,

they are very interested in any scammer living over here, if you ever get what appears to be a UK scammer then ask for help please, police will act on them

there are dedicated teams who specialise in various scams over at www.419eater.com & www.scamwarners.com

- there are many, eBay is actually not the worst site for scams, honest!

if I'm not around (a PM should normally get me even if not on the boards) let me know and I'll help put you in contact with someone who can help

I once pursued the email address given in one of these scam listings to see what info i could get and managed to get a UK mobile number which I then passed on to eBay for them to pass to the police. still seems to be happening though

How does the law work though? Is it considered anything illegal before a transaction is made, or is it only fraud once money is paid?
