Anti-skate on a Hadcock 242

With my Hadcock 242SE i find that any anti-skate setting makes things sound sat-on and pinched, and it's only when I pull the thread off the pulley entirely and rest the weight on the arm board that things open up and sound lively and involving again... (Presumably at the expense of some tracking distortion?)

Anyone else have a similar experience? Wonder if I'm doing something wrong...

stewartwen of this ere forum is the Wam's resident Hadcock expert, or so he tells me :p

he's supposed to be running a critical eye over mine in the not too distant.

I wouldn't worry too much & go with what sounds best.
